Continuing Education Units
Some Event Decorating Academy courses provide Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
The standards for accreditation are set by a peer review board whose members include faculty from various accredited colleges and universities.
Accreditation is important because it: Helps determine if an institution meets or exceeds minimum standards of quality, helps students determine acceptable institutions for enrollment. and assists institutions in determining acceptability of transfer credits.
How to Earn IACET CEUs
The Event Decorating Academy awards CEUs and a certificate of completion for specific courses. Check the course description for the eligibility and number of CEUs.
For students to earn IACET CEUs, they must successfully enroll in a three (3) day or longer course, attend classes daily, complete the course and pass the final exam with a grade of 70% or higher. Students who do not pass the exam with a 70% or higher grade may retake the test twice.
After the third attempt, it is required that the student retake the course. We want you to succeed and permit any student that does not achieve a 70% grade to retake the course without a course fee. Students retaking the course must pay a nominal $15 per day to cover lunch and snacks.
CEUs are calculated using the formula provided by IACET, 1 CEU = 10 hours of actual class time. You must be in attendance for the full class to earn the CEUs and will be asked to sign in and out each day of class.
Records/Transcript Request
Requests for student records or original transcripts have to be in writing, The form must be completed and signed by the student and submitted to the Administrative Office via fax at (866) 931 2797, by e-mail to admin@eventdecoratingacademy.com or by USPS mail.
The Academy will furnish the records/transcript within ten days (10) after receipt of the written request. There will be no charge for the first request; any subsequent request will incur a charge of $5.00.
The student may request records or a transcript on an expedited basis, prepared within three (3) working days, for $20 per request.
